March 12 Meeting Changes
Bob Wellemeyer will not be able to join us, however, our very own Susan Finley will speak about Gardening For Honeybees. Learn what local plants to grow to help our bees to thrive! Her knowledge of the subject is extensive, as she is currently working towards her Master Gardener certification. Oh, yeah....Melissa and Jason Clark are bringing the goodies!
The Meeting notes:
Lots of folks attended the meeting this evening, 31of us, but who's counting. As promised Susan spoke about gardening for bees and the possible harm caused by neonicotinoid pesticides. Ken spoke about famous beekeeper and Wright brother's contemporary and historian AI Root. We also watched a video that spoke of bee friendly plants and how to propagate them from cuttings.
We also voted to change our club account to Pioneer bank after their gracious gift to our club of not one, but two, laptops!! We took a group picture as thanks. We will post it soon. THANK YOU PIONEER BANK!
Lots of members have had some hive losses. Many have already arranged for bee purchases to start or bolster their apiaries!
